Fuel requirements also affect product selection. Buyers should review the recommended fuel type and size, firebox capacity, loading method, ash handling, and the time required for the unit to cool before it is moved or packed away.

Any cooking or gear-drying use should be confirmed for the selected model rather than assumed for the entire category. Cookware support, top-surface use, included accessories, and required clearances vary between tent-stove designs.

Tent-stove materials should clearly explain ventilation, carbon monoxide and fire hazards, safe operation, supervision, shutdown, and cool-down procedures.
